Giprotruboprovod employees have won prizes at the International Youth Science and Technology Conference of Transneft and members of the International Association of Oil Transporters (IAOT). The event was held on 29–30 May 2018 in the city of Kazan, at the premises of Transneft Kama Region.
More than 60 participants presented their works on relevant issues faced by the industry of crude oil and petroleum products pipeline transportation.
“New technologies and materials are emerging and requirements to environmental and industrial safety are becoming more strict. Professionals who are young, offbeat, creative and, most importantly, passionate, can address those new challenges and solve the problems we’re facing. Thanks to participation of members of the International Association of Oil Transporters, we have managed to expand the event’s geographical span over the past few years,” said Pavel Revel-Muroz, Vice President of Transneft who chaired the contest committee.
The contest committee awarded second prize to Milyausha Bayanova and Olga Nizamova, 1st category engineers from the process section of Kazangiprotruboprovod Branch, for their Modernisation of Lubrication System at Transneft Pumping Stations project (co-authored by Rinat Nabiev from Transneft Urals).
Third prize went to Andrei Prokhodtsev, a lead engineer from the computer-aided design systems section of Giprotruboprovod, the author of the Automation of Equipment Layout and Calculation of Cable Lengths project.
The event’s main aim is to develop fledgling specialists’ creativity as well as to involve them in solving scientific and technological problems and developing new technologies that would enhance reliability and environmental safety of crude oil and petroleum products pipeline transportation system.
